I have had my AMK-77 2X72 Belt Grinder, 1.5hp, Variable Speed VFD, 12" wheel for about 18 months now. I will be making my 100th knife on it this weekend. I love the thing. it has more than enough power, it is very smooth and switching from wheel to flat platen is fast and easy. I did have a issue with the alignment/tension wheel and Allen resolve the problem right away. If it was stolen I would buy another. 5 STARS it is worth every penny.

Long term review... so Ive had this grinder for over 4 years now and have made well over a 100 knives with it and it stills performs without fail. There are LOTS of grinders on the market and if you've done your research its easy to get discouraged with some of the high price tags. In my opinion you will not find another grinder of this quality/capability on the market at this price point, its an awesome grinder and I will be getting the horizontal very soon. I am NOT a paid endorser, just a satisfied customer.

I've had this machine for a few months now, it's the best I have used. I've had a square wheel machine and a burr king, this blows them out of the water. Super smooth operation, I can achieve outrageous precision grinds even on the finest edged kitchen knives, without worrying about overheating the edge.

I bought an AMK-77 belt sander about 8 months ago to help in my knifemaking, it is an excellent blend of the needed grinding attachments--flat platen, contact wheel, small wheel attachment In a versatile footprint.
The AMK team is first rate also--I really love these guys~!
